Madrigals

I’m not so sure what i was dreaming
About but i’m sure it was better
Than this and i’ll hope you suppose
That i’m alright i’m buying you flowers

You told everyone, they know everything
And your madrigals and your silver rings
I still see a flash
From the time i opened my eyes too wide

I couldn’t have asked you to stay
I’m already falling to pieces
From this and i’ll hope you suppose
That i’m alright i’m sending you flowers

You told everyone, they know everything
And your madrigals and your silver rings
I still see a flash
From the time i opened my eyes too wide

I said to know your troubles... (repeat)

Notes:

Madrigals has always been a fan favorite -- it was even thought to be the anchor song to "Stop All the World Now" until the tracklist was released, shocking fans. Madrigals was released instead on a self-titled EP along with a DVD demonstrating the ambient beauty of the live, loop sampled version.

A full band version of Madrigals was debuted at the Paradise during the Australia release party, a live jam with John Mayer is in circulation on KaZaA (www.kazaalite.com) and a full version with the Stop All the World Now band was debuted in Austin, TX on November 4th, 2003. It's a shame the song wasn't debuted in Dallas -- Howie has said in interviews that the opening line "I'm not so sure what I'm dreaming.. but I'm sure it was better than this..." were the first words he uttered when waking up from a nap at the Dallas / Ft. Worth airport during his Australia tour.

The first line of Madrigals can be found printed on the inside of the left spine if you take apart the Stop All the World Now (Regular Edition) case.  "I'm not so sure what I was dreaming about but I'm sure it was better than this..."
